Jennifer Gaudet, born and raised in Cambridge, made her mark as a world class ringette player. She attended Woodland Park School, Jacob Hespeler Secondary School, completed her undergraduate degree at Western University and received her Bachelor of Education at Brock University. Today, Jenn is a teacher for the Waterloo Region District School Board.

Jennifer’s winning record started early. She won her first Provincial Championship with the Cambridge Turbos in 1992 in the U12 division and repeated the win in 1994.

In 1999, she won gold as a member of Team Ontario at the Canadian Ringette Winter Games held in Cornerbrook, N.L, and in 1996,1998, and 1999 won gold at the Canadian Ringette Championships. From 1998 to 2007 and again in 2009, Jennifer was named an All Star, 11 times in total, at the Canadian Ringette Championships.

In 2002, she played for her hometown Cambridge Turbos, winning silver at the Ontario Championships and was picked up to play for the Gloucester Ringette team to compete for Team Ontario at the nationals, winning gold. That year she became a member of Team Canada after she was one of 100 players picked to attend the try-out camp.

In December 2002, Jennifer played for Team Canada, winning gold at the World Championships in Edmonton by defeating Finland 3-1 in the deciding game. In 2003, she again played for Team Ontario at the nationals, winning silver. At that tournament she earned the iTech Performance Award and was named to the All Star Team.

In 2004, while playing for Team Canada at the World Ringette Championships in Stockholm, Sweden, Jennifer won silver. In 2005, with the Cambridge Turbos she won silver at the National Championships and that same year was the leading scorer in the National Ringette League (NRL). In 2006, she won gold while playing for the Cambridge Turbos at the National Championships.

In 2007, Jennifer was named Captain of Team Canada when they played at the World Championships in Ottawa, and won silver after the loss to Finland 5-4 in the championship game. She was also named Most Valuable Player of the year in the National Ringette League.

Jennifer played for the National Ringette League championship teams in 2006, 2008, 2009, and was the NRL Leading Goal Scorer in each of those years.
Playing for Team Canada at the 2010 World Championships, Jennifer won silver and that same year was inducted into the Ringette Hall of Fame as part of the 2002 World Championship Team.

In 2012, she was the coach of the Team Canada West U19 team, winning bronze at the World Championships.

Over the 35 years that Jennifer played ringette, she won 21 national championship medals:12 gold, 6 silver, 3 bronze.

Jennifer Gaudet joins her younger sister Jacqueline (Jackie) Gaudet (2024) and their father Glen Gaudet (2019) as inductees in the Region of Waterloo’s Hall of Fame. The Gaudet family is a powerhouse in the local, provincial, national, and international competitive world of ringette, a team sport where individual players have the opportunity to become leaders.
